On the recent K Star Next Door episode, the latest guests were teased and it was none other than INFINITE’s Woohyun and Sungwoon.
From the minute they appeared, the teaser went straight to business as Sungwoon said, “Now, idols need to sing live.” Woohyun added that he and the group always sing live during performances, and INFINITE’s top-tier vocals are something netizens love about the group.
Many idols worry about singing live in case issues arise, but Sungwoon said that even if your voice cracks or he goes flat, it’s actually cooler because it proves that fans are hearing their raw vocals.
Woohyun then got brutally honest with his words, explaining, “We’re not dancers. We sing and dance. We’re K-pop singers.”
To prove their point, both idols sang their hearts out singing DAY6’s “You Were Beautiful,” which is hard enough but they did it in a higher key.
The idols’ words sparked huge reactions from fans who couldn’t agree more with INFINITE. Many explained how they don’t mind small mistakes, and the use of AR or lip sync just makes performances boring when it seems like idols are only focusing on their facial expressions or dancing.

- Seriously, someone had to say it… A little off-pitch or a small mistake—so what? That’s the whole point of watching live performances.
- It doesn’t have to be 1|00% perfect, but I think it should be at least 80%.
Depending on vocal condition, it’s okay to lip sync once or twice, but treating it like the norm? That’s a bit much. - Honestly, music shows are boring these days because they just lipsync and rely on facial expressions. I watch and wonder—what am I even watching?
- Yeah, everything said is spot on.
It’s so annoying when they act like they’re struggling while an AR (audio recording) is playing in the background. It’s obvious and fake.
Stop relying on AR and sing with your real voice.
A cracked note is better than that.
You only improve live skills with regular practice.
Please, let’s do real live performances. - Whoa, what a bold and honest opinion—love it!
INFINITE are the perfect role models, combining amazing vocals and great performances.
