NCT Yuta‘s supposed reaction to former groupmate Taeil has gained attention online.

Last year, many were shocked when it was announced that Taeil would no longer be a member of NCT due to a sex crime investigation. In July 2025, the former idol appeared in court, where he admitted guilt and asked for leniency during sentencing.
Ultimately, he was sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison, half of what prosecutors initially asked for.

SM Entertainment took steps to remove traces of Taeil, ending his contract and attempting to remove him from yet-to-be-published material. Fans also tried to remove him from previously published materials, though it was challenging to do in some cases, like with album covers.
One such album cover is the group’s 2020 Neo Zone, which features the then-current line-up. A fan brought this album to Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, where Yuta attended the Louis Vuitton fashion show.

In a viral TikTok, Yuta can be seen taking a look at the album before moving away, seeming to apologize for not signing. The video’s original poster shared the belief that Yuta, who usually stops to sign items for fans, did not in this case because the album featured Taeil on the cover.

Some expressed thoughts that Yuta’s actions were “rude” to the fan for not signing in that moment.
Many praised the idol’s choice, or expressed understanding of why he did so if that was the real reason.
