It has to do with their company’s CEO.

As Boys II Planet kicks off, it has already become a hot topic amongst netizens for both good and bad reasons.

The show has already faced “evil editing” accusations, in addition to the judges of the show being accused of making fat shaming comments to the contestants. On the other hand, several of the trainees have stood out for their talents, earning the favor of viewers.
However, two popular contestants, 16-year-old Yeom Yechan and 14-year-old Kim Taejo (TJ), have become a topic of discussion due to their company.

Both of the trainees are under Choco Entertainment, a company that was founded in 2019, and has yet to officially debut a group. Instead, the company’s trainees share content as ChoCo, a pre-debut co-ed group.
The company’s CEO, Cho PD, is a producer who has been involved with multiple K-Pop groups over the years. In 2019, he founded Stardom Entertainment specifically to house Block B, before debuting the boy group Topp Dogg under the label.
His management of these groups would end badly, with Block B leaving the agency amid claims of not being paid for over a year, and Topp Dogg leader eader P-Goon taking to Twitter to demand that Cho PD explain where the group’s missing funds from their recent Japanese tour were.

At the time, Cho PD, who had signed a contract transferring all the assets of Stardom to Hunus Entertainment, was no longer involved with the group or the company. Hunus and Cho PD were actually involved in a lawsuit over other financial issues.
Ultimately, Hunus won the lawsuit, and Cho PD was sentenced to a two years suspended sentence.

A creator on TikTok discussed this information in a video, much to the shock of viewers who planned on supporting the trainees. Many reasoned that even with a five year contract to promote with the winning Boys II Planet group, Choco Entertainment would still receive funds and could not be trusted.
