After a nine-month wait, Kang Daniel is back — and he’s shining brighter than ever. His sixth mini-album, Glow to Haze, drops today at 6 PM today, marking a powerful new era in his artistic journey.
From cinematic storytelling to self-composed tracks, this album signals both a personal and creative evolution for the K-pop soloist.
The album, structured like a movie with five tracks, explores the dichotomy of “Glow” (cheerful, shining moments) and “Haze” (a hazy, uncertain heart). Kang Daniel penned the lyrics for four of the songs, including the title track, expressing three-dimensional emotions about love with a deeper tone and message. The album also features a “pink” aesthetic and love theme, showcasing a new side of the artist.
Leading the charge is the title track “Episode,” a vibrant fusion of Latin rhythm and R&B that captures the thrill of new love. Even more exciting: Daniel participated in composing this track — a first since his debut — and penned lyrics for four of the five songs. “Episode”’s choreography is a masterclass in synergy, crafted by top choreographers Choi Young-jun and Auspicious. Instead of relying on a standout move, the performance flows seamlessly with the music, offering an emotionally immersive experience.
The music video is a fantasy spectacle set in a mysterious museum, where Daniel transforms into a modern-day Cupid. Blending whimsical visuals with a touch of romantic mystery, it showcases his versatility not just as a performer, but as a visual storyteller.
Track three, “Love Game,” stands out as his first full-fledged effort in composition and production. Through metaphorical lyrics that liken love to a strategic game, he delivers layered emotions with sweet piano melodies, taut bass lines, and rich guitar textures. It’s a clear testament to how much his artistry has matured.
With Glow to Haze, Kang Daniel isn’t just making music — he’s telling stories, taking risks, and proving that his glow only gets stronger with every step forward.
