BTS‘s J-Hope is on tour right now, with his latest stop being in Taipei. There, he had an unexpected encounter with the local police—and his caught-off-guard reaction to the brief interaction has since gone viral.

Right after the concert, J-Hope went live on Weverse to spend more time with his fans. He was in a vehicle being driven by someone else. Then, the car came to a quick stop, as J-Hope looked quite surprised.

The driver could be heard in the background speaking to a police officer outside the vehicle:
Driver: He’s a celebrity.
Police: A customer?
Driver: A celebrity.
Police: Celebrity, OK. You can go.
Due to the language barrier, J-Hope was unaware of what was happening and remained visibly spooked…
…until the driver confirmed that it was just a DUI checkpoint. Whew!

J-Hope: What was that?
Driver: A DUI checkpoint.
J-Hope: Oh, checking for DUIs? They do that here, too? That’s cool.
J-Hope’s “HOPE ON THE STREET” tour has one final stop remaining in Osaka, Japan at the end of this month.
