IU has done it again!
Her surprise digital single “Bye, Summer”, released quietly at 7 AM on the 10th, has soared to the top of major music charts, including Melon, Bugs, and Genie.
The track, arriving without any prior notice or promotion, was intended as a thoughtful gift for fans as summer fades into autumn’s cool breeze.
The song’s success comes as no surprise to fans who first heard “Bye, Summer” during IU’s 2024 HEREH WORLD TOUR ENCORE: THE WINNING at Seoul World Cup Stadium last September. Since then, many have eagerly awaited its official release. IU penned both the lyrics and melody, teaming up once again with composer Seo Dong-hwan, who also worked with her on the hit Love Wins All. The result is a refreshing band-driven track with IU’s signature heartfelt vocals—a song that feels like a gentle breeze closing out the season.
Currently topping the Melon HOT100, Bugs real-time chart, and Vibe’s domestic rising chart, “Bye, Summer” proves IU’s unmatched power to connect deeply with listeners even without traditional promotions.
Fans can enjoy the song now on all major streaming platforms and IU’s official YouTube channel. Looking ahead, IU will host her 2025 IU FAN MEET-UP [Bye, Summer] on September 13–14 at KSPO DOME. Meanwhile, her pop-up store ‘Found at Eight’ is open until September 21 at Epic Seoul, 5F The Hyundai Seoul.
