Just before this, however, a video from the perspective of a friend of a woman Jungkook had dating rumors with gained attention, revealing how her life was affected.

In 2019, leaked CCTV footage of Jungkook showed him in close contact with a popular tattoo artist named Lee Mi Joo.  A friend of the woman denied the rumors, and Jungkook’s agency also issued a denial, along with plans to take the leaker to court.

Tattooist Lee Mijoo Denies Dating Rumors With BTS’s Jungkook

Just a month after the rumors, a friend of Lee Mi Joo sat down for an interview with YTN Star, where he spoke about the incident. The man spoke about how the rumors began, saying they met through a mutual friend and became close due to similar personalities.

He explained that the time in question involved a group outing and that “fans made it what it is,” regarding the dating rumors.

He said that as a result of hate comments, she basically became an alcoholic, saying that all she does is drink when she did not before. He also said that her family had been doxed, while anyone connected to her was also suffering harassment as well.

Her phone number was also leaked, with her receiving phone calls all day, even from abroad.

The friend commented that it was a relief she had not taken her own life at that point, and got choked up while showing some of the harassment she sent him.

It is essential to note that Jungkook is not responsible for the reactions to the rumors; instead, the woman’s friend places blame on those who took action. He even mentioned that due to the action of these fans, BTS’s reputation might suffer, making everyone “lose” in this situation.

Thankfully, the tattoo artist is still alive, though her new accounts seem to still carry the affects of the dating rumors from six years ago, as seen in the seemingly limited comments.
