The viral post argues that many HYBE acts lack clear standout strengths, particularly when it comes to traditional idol roles like main vocalist, dancer, or rapper.

First of all, they can’t sing, and the biggest issue is that there aren’t clear main vocal, main dancer, or main rapper positions.

They continued with scathing criticism towards some of the artists under the massive label.

I really hate ILLIT’s regressive, infantilized “magical girl” otaku concept. LE SSERAFIM’s otaku girl-crush concept is a huge no for me too. NewJeans just feels boring, forced, and cringey. ENHYPEN and TXT’s otaku concepts are an absolute hard no.

BOYNEXTDOOR, CORTIS, and KATSEYE are probably the least cringey out of them, but CORTIS already has tons of plagiarism allegations, so that’s a whole issue on its own.

Lastly, the harsh post all criticised the groups’ music.

Looking at it now, it feels like all HYBE groups have this very “otaku” vibe, which makes me instinctively reject them. I’ll exclude SEVENTEEN and fromis_9 since they were acquired. And I also can’t stand HYBE’s signature mechanical, processed sound.

Anyway, I do genuinely acknowledge that HYBE is making a lot of attempts and putting in effort for the sake of K-pop, and that’s impressive. But for some reason, I just can’t get attached to them. I’m curious how things will turn out in the future.
