BTS Suga is bringing the voices of autistic children on stage! His music band, which accompanied him on his solo world tour, “D-DAY,” will perform alongside children from Severance Hospital’s MIND program. The event, which is called “SHINING MINDS,” will take place on December 9, 2025, at 7 pm, at Yonsei University.

Support for Autism and Mental Health

After his military service, Suga donated 5 million US$ to Severance Hospital in Seoul, which launched the Min YoonGi Treatment centre named after his real name in his honour. The treatment centre offers mental health care and therapy for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Alongside Professor Cheon KeunAh, he created the program MIND (Music, Interaction, Network, Diversity) in order to help children with autism develop new social skills.

Children’s Musical Activities

During the program, the children engage in different musical activities, such as playing instruments and singing, or even writing their own lyrics, helping them discover a new way to express their feelings through music. With the upcoming concert, the children can showcase their skills in front of an audience and have their voices heard.

Suga as a Teacher

Apart from the donation, Suga actively engaged in the program by teaching music to the children, taking on the role of a teacher. Though the children didn’t know Suga’s true identity, they enjoyed the lessons with Mr. Min, who played the guitar and sang for them every weekend, and even gave him handwritten letters on ‘Teacher’s Day.’ “He was so happy during the lessons that he couldn’t wait for the next weekend to come,” said Professor Cheon KeunAh.

Music and Mental Health Advocacy

The BTS member has always been trying to raise awareness about mental health issues through his music. On his solo songs under the name AGUST D, he often speaks up about his personal struggles with mental health, while on the group songs, alongside the rest of BTS, they convey messages such as prioritising self-love and care over social expectations.

BTS Comeback and Impact

Since completing their military enlistment, BTS members have taken part in solo projects. Their group comeback is expected in Spring 2026, with a new album and world tour anticipated. While Suga may be the least active member after his enlistment, his heartfelt actions speak volumes about his worth as an artist and his power to make a difference through music, making ARMYs proud all around the world.
