BTS Jin‘s honest comments about the members’ attitude to “Dynamite” have sparked a heated debate.

Back in 2020, BTS released “Dynamite,” and it became a global hit.
Recently, Jin appeared on the Netflix show Screwball.
During the episode, Jin spoke about “Dynamite” and how although it was hugely successful, it wasn’t a track the members were fond of at the start.
It was never the song that the members favored. We had a scheduled tour, but it got canceled due to the pandemic. We couldn’t just idle, so our agency prepared three demos for us. ‘Dynamite’ was the first one we heard. We asked for alternatives, but we liked the other two less. We weren’t exactly thrilled about it. I guess some other gods looked out for us.

👤: BTS’ achievement cannot be easily matched. “Dynamite” topped the Billboard’s chart.

While the comments Jin made weren’t new, with some of the members sharing their past views on the track, it sparked a huge discussion on Reddit.

Some explained that it isn’t uncommon for stars to not always feel 100% about songs before release, just for them to become huge, but “Dynamite” was such an important song that provided comfort during the pandemic.

Netizens acknowledged that these kinds of comments from stars could create tension within fandoms.
In the past, the discourse on “Dynamite” was divided, and there was a chance that some could take the comment from Jin to be a “gotcha” moment for anyone who voiced negative opinions about the song. There were even past comments that could arise where people linked their thoughts on the song to “BTS changing” or forgetting their Korean roots. Netizens worried that the comments would be taken out of context to be used for “validation.”
