Another SM Entertainment Idol Announces His Departure From Group

dearALICE member James has announced that he is leaving the group.

In a letter posted to his Instagram account, James wrote that he felt it was time to “move on.” He thanked fans and those who worked with the group, adding that his voice would still appear on the group’s upcoming mini-album.

dearALICE debuted in February 2025 as a five member group following their development as a British boy band created under the K-Pop system in a collaboration between SM Entertainment and MOON&BACK.

The group were introduced during one of the SMTOWN concerts, where they performed their first single, “Ariana.”
