In November 2022, YG Entertainment announced that Bang Yedam would leave TREASURE to “pursue his career as a producer.” Since then, he has been making music as a solo artist under GF Entertainment, with his first album released in November 2023 and his latest in August 2024.
But it seems his path as a soloist has taken another wild turn as fans have discovered DIMO REX, Bang Yedam’s new identity. In a new “19+” rated video “Like That” posted July 15, 2025 (KST), the “new” artist explores genres noticeably different from his K-Pop era.
“Like That,” as well as DIMO REX’s previous works also posted on the same YouTube channel, are receiving mixed reactions with some praising the new sounds…

…and others just confused by it all.

- “He’s got decent talent as a singer, but visually don’t know how to use it well… Maybe switching lanes completely to composing or producing wouldn’t be a bad idea.”

- “Is smoking supposed to be cool? Pathetic. Honestly shocked. This is definitely ‘shocking update’ material, and the other comments defending it are ridiculous. Why do ex-idols get a pass for stuff others get dragged for? If you want fairness, treat them like every other try-hard wannabe. It’s not just smoking — the way it’s styled is so bad. Why are they trying to copy Bruno Mars smoking or whatever? LOL.”

Either way, fans remain intrigued: Will Bang Yedam now be DIMO REX or is this an experimental side quest?
