BTS member Jungkook had to face two separate home invasion attempts by two women this year. However, the cases have taken different turns.
Jungkook | SpotifyOne of the offenders, a Korean woman in her 40s, trespassed on the parking lot of Jungkook’s home in Yongsan Ward, Seoul, at around 11:20 pm KST on August 30. The police received a call regarding this and showed up at the scene, taking her into custody.
According to the police, on October 22, the case was sent to the prosecution on October 14, KST, on charges of trespassing and violating the anti-stalking law.
In a separate incident, a Chinese woman in her 30s visited Jungkook’s home late at night on June 11, the day he was discharged from his military service. She tried pushing the keypad door lock multiple times before the police arrived and apprehended her at the scene. The woman told the police that she had come to Korea from China to see Jungkook after his return from the military.
The Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office, which was overseeing this case, has announced that it dropped the charges against the Chinese woman, considering that she wasn’t able to actually trespass onto his property and posed a low risk of reoffending as she had returned to her home country.
These cases have renewed concerns over Jungkook’s safety and privacy. Fans are hoping for stricter legal action against the remaining offender so that others are effectively discouraged from following suit.
