South Korean actress Clara finalized her divorce with Korean-American businessman Samuel Hwang in August after six years of marriage, her agency confirmed Friday.

The decision was reached by mutual consent following "long and careful discussions" between the two, according to KHS Agency's official statement.

Clara, whose birth name is Lee Sung-min, married Hwang in a private ceremony in the United States in February 2019. The husband is two years her senior, and the couple opted not to have children during their marriage. Although they completed the legal proceedings in August, the agency postponed the public announcement until October to respect both families' wishes and allow time for mutual understanding.

Through her agency, the actress conveyed her regret over the timing and nature of the news. "I apologize for having to share this unfortunate news with everyone who supported me," Clara said. She added that she felt deeply sorry for causing concern among her fans and well-wishers.

Clara debuted as an actress in 2006 with the KBS2 drama "The Invisible Man Choi Jang Soo." She gained wider recognition through roles in series such as "High Kick!" (2006), "Creating Destiny" (2009–10), "Goddess of Marriage" (2013), and "Emergency Couple" (2014), and later expanded her career into the Chinese market. Known for her international appeal, she has balanced projects in both Korea and China while engaging followers through her YouTube channel and social media platforms.

During her marriage, Clara often shared glimpses of her personal life online, posting affectionate messages and photos with Hwang. Yet despite her earlier public expressions of enduring love, the couple ultimately chose to part ways amicably.

KHS Agency thanked fans for their understanding of the delayed announcement and asked for continued support for Clara's future endeavors. "We ask for your kind understanding and ongoing encouragement as Clara continues to pursue her career," the statement read.

As Clara turns the page on this chapter of her life, she remains poised to return to the screen. The actress has projects lined up for later this year and continues to explore roles that showcase her versatility. Her fans can expect new updates on her official channels in the coming weeks.

Clara's divorce marks the end of a significant personal journey but also sets the stage for her next professional steps. The actress's resilience and dedication to her craft suggest she will navigate this transition with the same commitment she has shown throughout her career.
