While the news excited FTISLAND’s fans, another artist and their fans are now expressing frustration with the band and FNC Entertainment.
Singer songwriter OoOo | @oooo_ornette/InstagramAs of October 31, singer songwriter OoOo (also known as Ornette), has taken to their official social media platforms accusing FTISLAND of plagiarizing their 2022 album cover art.
| @oooo_ornette/XOoOo noted that the two album cover arts “bear a striking resemblance” and hence problematic, but that they didn’t know how to deal with the situation at hand.

“Hello, this is singer-songwriter OoOo.
Today, on October 31, FNC Entertainment’s FT Island released an album cover that bears a striking resemblance to the cover of my album, Beautiful.
I understand that some might dismiss it as a common design. But among the countless 3D artworks and designs out there, it’s extremely rare to find one featuring a pond at the center surrounded by grass.
Even the images on Pinterest were either edited from or created based on my original work.
The similar distribution of flowers, the composition of grass leading into a pond reflecting the sky, and the overall layout centered around the pond all suggest that my image was clearly seen or used as a reference.
I honestly don’t know how to respond or what to do about this situation.”

The singer songwriter even reached out to designer Nam Seung Hyun (@nsh.jpg) on Instagram, the designer who worked on the album cover for FTISLAND.

I’m contacting you as the designer who directly worked on the album cover art that looks similar to mine. Please check your DMs.
— OoOo
FTISLAND, FNC Entertainment, and Nam Seung Hyun are all yet to respond.
Stay tuned for updates.
