“KPop Demon Hunters” Debuts 5 New Songs On Billboard Hot 100 As “Golden” And “Your Idol” Rise

All of the original songs from the hit film “KPop Demon Hunters” are now charting on the Billboard Hot 100!

Last week, two of the songs from Netflix’s animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” entered the Hot 100 (Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States). Fictional boy band Saja Boys’ song “Your Idol” (sung by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, U-KISS’s Kevin Woo, and samUIL Lee) debuted at No. 77, while fictional girl group HUNTR/X’s song “Golden” (sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami) debuted at No. 81.

This week, both of those songs surged on the chart and entered the top 40: “Golden” shot to No. 23 in its second week on the Hot 100, while “Your Idol” jumped to No. 31.

Meanwhile, five additional songs from the film debuted on the Hot 100 this week, meaning that all the remaining original songs sung by the movie’s characters have now entered the chart. HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” debuted at No. 42, Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” at No. 49, HUNTR/X’s “What It Sounds Like” at No. 55, Rumi and Jinu’s duet “Free” (sung by EJAE and Andrew Choi) at No. 58, and HUNTR/X’s “Takedown” at No. 64.

The “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack also gained steam on both of Billboard’s global charts this week. On Billboard’s Global 200, “Golden” rose to No. 2, followed by “Your Idol” at No. 10, “Soda Pop” at No. 13, “How It’s Done” at No. 16, “What It Sounds Like” at No. 27, “Free” at No. 31, and “Takedown” at No. 39. TWICE’s Jeonghyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s version of “Takedown” also debuted at No. 81 on the Global 200, while TWICE’s 2024 hit “Strategy” (which is included on the soundtrack) re-entered the chart at No. 125.

On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, “Golden” climbed to No. 5, trailed by “Your Idol” at No. 15, “Soda Pop” at No. 17, “How It’s Done” at No. 21, “What It Sounds Like” at No. 34, “Free” at No. 35, and “Takedown” at No. 52. Jeonghyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s version of “Takedown” debuted at No. 88, while TWICE’s “Strategy” re-entered the chart at No. 129.
