Producer and songwriter Rado, also known by his real name Song Joo Young, recently made a surprising revelation about one of TWICE‘s most iconic songs.

Rado is best known as one-half of the K-Pop hitmaking duo Black Eyed Pilseung, with the other half being Choi Kyu Sung. Rado has produced some of the biggest hits by TWICE, including “Cheer Up,” “TT,” and “Fancy.”
Rado recently made an appearance on a YouTube channel called Sangsudong Jageobsir, where he shared a surprising fact that TWICE’s smash hit song “Like OOH-AHH” was originally written for Red Velvet! The song was offered to SM Entertainment girl group first, but ended up becoming the iconic emblem of TWICE’s historic debut.
This revelation has drawn some strong responses from netizens. While some were curious about how the song would have sounded in Red Velvet’s soundscape, others felt that it was never the right fit for their style.

- “It really doesn’t suit them. It was a good decision to give it to TWICE.”
- “But it suits TWICE better. It kind of feels like a big group song.”
- “Wow but I’m curious how it would’ve sounded if it had gone to Red Velvet.”
- “It’s not that it doesn’t suit Red Velvet, but it feels like it was made for TWICE. It was a TWICE song from the start, so of course it fits them perfectly, honestly.”
- “Wow, it really doesn’t suit them… It doesn’t have that SM vibe at all.”
