The group, now in their 10th year, has seen an unexpected surge in global performance that has left many netizens debating whether it’s all organic or boosted by external factors. According to the post, TWICE currently has two tracks sitting on the Billboard Hot 100, both continuing to rise week after week.

Their song “Takedown” in particular has set a new milestone for Korean artists this year, holding the longest run on the chart in 2025 with six consecutive weeks. Fans pointed out that it’s unusual for a group with such a long career to be breaking new records instead of slowing down, calling it proof of TWICE’s staying power overseas.

The debate, however, comes from speculation that TWICE’s performance could be influenced by the soundtrack from KPop Demon Hunters.

Some argued that their popularity has always been strong internationally and that attributing their success to a single project dismisses their long-standing recognition. Others believe the timing of the movie’s release and TWICE’s comeback gave them extra visibility.

  • “I wasn’t really into TWICE’s music before, but I’ve actually been enjoying these two songs. I hope TWICE keeps getting great tracks in the future.”
  • “TWICE has always been popular overseas. The only reason their results feel so huge this time is because you can really see the numbers. Saying it’s just because of ‘KDH push’ shows you don’t know anything. Honestly, compared to groups that chart for a bit through playlists and media play then disappear, TWICE’s recognition is on another level.”
  • “I’ll always support TWICE!!! I hope they keep doing well for a long, long time.”
  • “Did their comeback song also make it into the Hot 100? Is that the song they’re talking about? That’s amazing.”
  • “Because of “Strategy”, I didn’t really check out TWICE’s music before. But now I find myself listening again.”
