South Korean rock band FTISLAND delivered a high-octane and heartwarming night in Kuala Lumpur as part of their “MAD HAPPY” 2025 Asia Tour, bringing fans a concert filled with laughter, powerful vocals, and a fresh era of music. The show is one of the key stops on their regional tour, following performances in Seoul, Macau and Taipei. The concert takes place Saturday 15 November 2025 at Mega Star Arena KL (Sung Wang area, Bukit Bintang), kicking off around 8.00 PM local time.

From the moment they stepped on stage, FTISLAND embraced the spirit of the tour’s theme — a joyful, unrestrained celebration of music and connection. Malaysian Primadonnas filled the hall with thunderous cheers, transforming the venue into a sea of yellow light sticks and anticipation.

Hongki Shares a Lighthearted Moment About His Injury

Lead vocalist Lee Hongki created one of the night’s most memorable moments when he candidly revealed that he was performing with a tummy brace due to a recent injury. With his trademark humour, he patted his stomach and joked that he may “look a bit bigger tonight,” prompting loud laughter and affectionate cheers from the crowd. Despite the brace, Hongki delivered his signature powerhouse vocals throughout the performance.

A Warm Welcome for the New Bassist

FTISLAND’s newly introduced bassist added to the fun with a charming confession: for the first time on tour, he could fully understand the members’ on-stage banter — thanks to KL’s English translations. Usually, translations at overseas concerts were in languages he didn’t understand, making Kuala Lumpur a refreshing experience. His comment instantly became a running joke, drawing warm reactions from fans and bandmates alike.

Fans Chant for Old Classics — But It’s a Night of New Music

Mid-show, the hall echoed with fans chanting “Sarang Sarang Sarang!”, hoping for a nostalgic throwback. Hongki playfully responded that tonight was a “new songs only” night, as the concert featured an entirely new setlist from FTISLAND’s 2024–2025 releases. Fans quickly embraced the moment, exploding with renewed energy as the band continued their string of modern tracks.

A Fresh Setlist Showcasing FTISLAND’s New Era

The Kuala Lumpur stop highlighted the band’s musical growth, featuring all-new arrangements, reimagined classics, and recently released tracks that represent FTISLAND’s evolution. Among the standout performances were:

  • Freedom – a fiery opener setting the pace for the night
  • Madly (2025 Version) – heavier, re-energised arrangement
  • Take Me Now – guitar-driven and emotionally intense
  • Wish – smooth, melodic and fan-engaging
  • Black Chocolate – playful and sultry
  • Unthinkable, Hold the Moon, Sage – a trio of emotional, modern-era favourites
  • Paradise and Cheers – uplifting anthems that embodied the “Mad Happy” theme

The encore featured the 2025 reborn version of “Flower Rock”, along with emotional reprises that brought the crowd together in perfect unison.

A Night That Reflects FTISLAND’s Renewal

FTISLAND’s “MAD HAPPY” show in Kuala Lumpur was more than a concert — it was a celebration of the band’s refreshed identity, their enduring connection with fans, and the joyful chaos that makes FTISLAND who they are. With candid moments, laughter, and a fully revitalised setlist, the night proved that Mad Happy is not just a tour name, but a feeling shared between the band and every Primadonna present.
