Exclusive Review: 82MAJOR Tour “82 SYNDROME” In Kansas City

On a sunny Tuesday day, 82MAJOR took Kansas City by storm. They performed at the legendary Gem Theater in Kansas City, Missouri located in the American Jazz Museum. I had the pleasure of going to 82MAJOR’s show without knowing much about them and I left completely blown away. The 6 member boy group from Great M Entertainment showed us that they meant business, they started the show with their up tempo song ‘Takeover’. Following the up beat memorable choreography, the steady and strong vocals, they continued into their hit songs ‘Stuck’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Gossip’. Even during these fast paced songs, the members continued to make memorable moments for their 82DE, their fandom name.

YeChan, is their fluent English speaking member but other members conversed and showed their emotions with English even if they weren’t fluent. They threw hearts out, interacted with their 82DE and they had a translator present at the show so even if they needed to speak in Korean their feelings were still strong and passionate. As a local Kansas City native, I was really impressed with how they knew all of these facts about our BBQ, our unique buildings and the Chiefs. It created a strong connection between fans and the members.

The show continued, some slower songs that really showed their vocal abilities and into their recent song ‘Choke’. 82DE in Kansas City showed out with screams of encouragement and hyping up the members with passionate ‘AYE AYE’ when they had a dance break. And during their encore song ‘Promise You’ the group made sweet memories with 82DE while singing about how “I want to be with you all the time leaning on each other.”

The show was incredible, memorable and I left as a 82DE at the end of the night.
