“Contoured Abs” — BTS J-Hope’s Faces Harsh Criticism Of His Recent Appearance

BTS’s J-Hope has been targeted with criticism following his recent concert.

On June 14, BTS’s J-Hope completed the second night of his Hope on the Stage finale concerts in Korea. The event also served as a reunion for the group, as all seven members were present during the first night.

During the second night of shows, J-Hope surprised fans by unzipping his jacket, revealing his abs and chest. He performed a number of songs this way, and went viral in the process.

However, the video also sparked criticism of J-Hope’s appearance.

On a post of the idol performing, many netizens negatively spoke about his appearance, including in ways considered to be body shaming. He was even accused of using contour to create the appearance of his abs in the video and teaser for “Killin’ It Girl (feat. Glorilla).”

Of course, many came to J-Hope’s defense, not only providing proof to shut down the faking abs accusations, but also complimenting his appearance overall.
