After years of silence, BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON has finally spoken out about the controversies surrounding former members Seungri and T.O.P, indirectly acknowledging the group’s past turbulence during his recent interview.
Appearing on interview show Son Suk Hee’s Questions on November 5, G-DRAGON opened up about his career, leadership, and the difficult moments he faced as BIGBANG’s leader. For those who don’t know yet, members Seungri and T.O.P left the group following major scandals and more. Seungri was ousted for his involvement in the Burning Sun Gate case, and T.O.P, although he seemed to have left the group for various reasons, was also charged for drug-related crimes.

Ever since then, both former members have reacted highly differently. Seungi has continued to spark backlash by performing BIGBANG songs overseas and referencing G-DRAGON, while T.O.P tried distancing himself from the group. T.O.P also admitted that he has not been in contact with the members.

When asked about those turbulent years and the scandals, G-DRAGON candidly reflected on the members’ alleged mistakes and personal lives. He admitted that they did not affect him that much personally.
“Honestly, my members’ mistakes or personal matters are separate from me. But the hardest times as a leader were when I made mistakes and caused harm to the team. Whether intentional or not, when situations like that happen, the entire team suffers — and that’s what hurt the most.”

Korean media praised G-Dragon’s mature and reflective response, calling it his first public acknowledgment of the group’s painful past. Many noted how he chose to respond with empathy and responsibility rather than blame, even smartly shifting the focus to himself, proving why he remains one of K-Pop’s most respected icons.
