When was the last time you spent four hours at a fanmeeting? For us, it was just last Saturday at Park Bo-gum’s Be With You fanmeeting in Kuala Lumpur. Yup, four and a half hours with Bogum—it sounds long, but honestly, time flew by so fast we didn’t even notice. It felt less like a concert and more like catching up with an old friend who just happens to be a superstar.
He kicked off the night with “Hello” and “Fine,” and just like that, the whole hall was wrapped up in his warm voice. The energy wasn’t just excitement—it was comfort, like Bogum was reminding everyone, “Hey, I’m back.” And that smile of his? You could feel the love radiating all the way to the back rows.
The first half was filled with stories, laughs, and plenty of fan interactions. For this chit-chat session, Bogum brought back a familiar partner: Owen Yap. He’s hosted all of Bogum’s Malaysia fanmeetings, and you could tell they’ve built a nice rhythm together. Owen teased him, fans shouted things from the audience, and Bogum responded with that gentle humor of his. When someone yelled, “Come every year!” he laughed and asked, “Even if I’m not a singer, is it okay if I just come and talk?” The crowd went wild—because honestly, yes, Bogum, we’d sit and talk with you for hours.
After the chatting, it was music time again. He sang “My Dearest,” pulling everyone straight into their feelings, and then sat at the piano for something extra special: a self-composed piece called “Aku Cinta Padamu.” The moment he sang in Malay, fans just melted. It wasn’t just a song—it felt like a love letter to everyone in the room.
And then came the one that really tugged at Malaysian hearts—“Belaian Jiwa.” Fans know how much Bogum loves this classic, and hearing him sing it live again was like a shared secret between him and Malaysia. You could tell it wasn’t just a performance; he genuinely enjoys that song, and the way the audience sang along made it feel like the sweetest duet.
Just when we thought the night was winding down, Bogum returned for the encore—and oh boy, he came back in a full Baju Melayu. The screams that exploded across the hall could probably be heard outside the venue. He looked amazing, and it wasn’t just about the outfit—it was the thoughtfulness behind it. Then, in that traditional wear, he headed up to Level 2 to greet the fans sitting higher up. Can you imagine? Bogum, in Baju Melayu, smiling and waving just a few steps away—it was surreal, and you could see how touched everyone was.
And because Bogum never does things halfway, he ended the night with a bye-bye session. Yes, he personally said goodbye to every single fan before they left. Thousands of people, and he still made it feel personal, waving, smiling, and sending everyone home with hearts full of love. Some fans cried, some laughed, but one thing was the same—nobody left empty.
That’s the thing about Park Bo-gum. He doesn’t just perform; he makes you feel like you matter. Be With You wasn’t just the title of the tour, it was the truth of the night.
