Global rising girl group A2O MAY is making waves once again, wrapping up a milestone weekend that marked several historic firsts for a Chinese idol group.
A Triumphant U.S. Debut: A2O MAY Captivates Over 1,000 Fans
The five-member group kicked off the weekend with their first-ever U.S. live showcase and EP release party at The Vermont in Los Angeles, performing for more than 1,000 fans. The show spotlighted their signature mix of precision choreography, powerful vocals, and high-energy charisma — earning rave reviews from fans and local press.
Following the sold-out event, A2O MAY was invited by LINE Friends to perform at Universal Studios CityWalk, drawing over 500 fans for another unforgettable live moment — a rare feat for a rookie Chinese pop group performing in the U.S.
New EP “PAPARAZZI ARRIVE” Defines the Sound of Zalpha Pop
The weekend also marked the release of A2O MAY’s first EP, “PAPARAZZI ARRIVE”, now available on all major streaming platforms. The 14-track record captures A2O Entertainment’s signature genre “Zalpha Pop” — a fusion of Gen Z emotion and Gen Alpha creativity. The EP features a diverse lineup of pre-debut songs, sub-unit performances, and solo tracks. The title song stands out with its siren-like synth riffs and dubstep-inspired beats, carrying a bold message of confidence and ambition through the group’s dynamic vocals.
Breaking Records and Making History in the U.S.
Since their debut, A2O MAY has been rewriting the playbook for Chinese artists in the global pop scene. Their pre-debut single “Under My Skin” made them the first Chinese group ever to enter the U.S. Top 40 Radio Chart, staying there for two consecutive weeks. Their follow-up single “BOSS” reached even greater heights, charting for five consecutive weeks and peaking at #32, marking the highest-ever ranking by a Chinese girl group in U.S. chart history.
Meanwhile, “B.B.B,” released in August, topped the Daily New Songs Chart on QQ Music, China’s largest music platform, and earned A2O MAY the “Rookie Group of the Year” award at the 2025 Weibo Music Awards. Across platforms, their music videos have surpassed 30 million views, boosted by the viral “Jump Rope Dance” trend on social media.
Powered by Soo Man Lee’s Vision of Global Pop
Backed by K-Pop pioneer SooMan Lee and launched under A2O Entertainment, A2O MAY is the first group to fully embody Zalpha Pop — a genre blending futuristic production with heartfelt storytelling. This month, the group made a glamorous appearance at the Amazon Studios documentary premiere Lee Soo Man: King of K-Pop in Los Angeles, sharing the red carpet with global icons including Girls’ Generation members and SHINee’s Taemin, further cementing their position as rising international stars.
