However, most recently, another post went viral online as a fan’s mother shared her experience of her daughter being denied entry.

“After my daughter succeeded in getting tickets for the first day of the fan meeting, we waited for a few weeks and finally drove from Busan to Seoul for the show. I dropped her off at the fan meeting location and left to meet with her dad, who had plans elsewhere. But then I received a call from my daughter saying she was denied entry because she didn’t have her Youth Verification Certificate.

Since she didn’t have it, she showed her Family Relationship Certificate, but they told her they needed the parents’ ID. So I took a picture of my ID and sent it to her, but they told her it had to be in person.

I ended up turning the car around and driving about an hour back to the venue, and they still said she couldn’t enter. Why? Because she didn’t have her Youth Verification Certificate! Then why didn’t they say so from the beginning? The ticket even said my daughter’s name on it, and we showed them the certificate and mom and dad’s ID, too. They took photos of all of this and sent them somewhere. They told us that the organizer team had said she couldn’t enter. My daughter argued with them at the entrance for three hours before returning home. I still can’t believe the staff member who just looked at my daughter crying.”

Netizens who saw this felt the company should compensate the fan for their ticket and transportation expenses.

Airplane check-in is possible for minors with a student ID, and if you don’t have one, they can verify it if the parent sends documents to confirm your identity…If it’s possible for riding a plane, what kind of verification could possibly stop me from entering a concert?

Netizens felt that just compensating for the ticket wouldn’t be enough to pay back the damages they received.

  • “This is ridiculous…they better apologize and compensate for the damages.”
  • “They better compensate them properly.”
  • “They need to do more than compensate for the ticket price. How much more do they have to verify themselves?”
  • “This won’t end with just reimbursement. They need to compensate for the damages…this is bullying.”
  • “So horrible…it won’t be enough to compensate the ticket price.”
  • “I don’t even know what would be enough to compensate for the damages…. It won’t be easy to wipe away the hurt the child received from this…”
