Where Is She Now? — The Female Idol Who Debuted At 5 Years Old

Among the members was a five-year-old, Park Yu Rim. It has been over 20 years since 7Princess released their debut Love Song album, and while most of the members of the group are still in the industry, Park has chosen a drastically different career.

Park, who is now 25 years old, has chosen an academic path rather than entertainment. The child idol grew up to graduate from the Korea Science Academy of KAIST and enrolled in KAIST’s School of Computing. She later transferred to the Department of Mathematical Sciences and continued her studies there.

In 2019, Park reportedly became a math mentor for Skyedu, an internet lecture service popular in Korea. Two years later, she made her official debut as a math lecturer. In 2022, she also won an award in Math Korea, a competitive math instructor selection event co-hosted by Daesung MyMac and Gangnam Daesung Academy. Consequently, she also started teaching in-person classes at Daechi Doogak Academy, a renowned private institution.

Despite her flourishing career as a math scholar, Park never really gave up her other talents in the entertainment field. Even as a child, she proved herself to be a prodigy, flourishing in both the broadcasting industry and the traditional Korean music scene. She had incredible talents in playing the gayageum and flute.

In 2019, while she was studying at KAIST, Park also appeared as a cover model for the weekly magazine, College Tomorrow, and placed as a runner-up in the 2019 Miss Incheon pageant, proving that she still had it in her to make it in the entertainment industry.

In her own words, Park’s incredibly versatile career trajectory was made possible by “rigorous time management.” Despite debuting at such a young age, she never neglected her studies, often solving math problems during break time on set. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the Korean entertainment industry will be rewarded with the presence of a genius if Park ever chooses to make her full return to her previous life.
