A popular Korean YouTuber, who goes by the alias of Woojunging, is set to debut in a four-member girl group as a 30-year-old.

With over 800,000 subscribers, Woojunging is a major internet celebrity in Korea. As per reports, she is now ready to mark a new chapter in her career as an idol. The YouTuber will debut in a project girl group along with other well-known female celebrities: former LOONA‘s Hyunjin, rapper Mirani from Show Me The Money 9, and dancer Amy from Street Woman Fighter 2.

The group’s debut will be documented in the web variety show Today’s Debut Team (tentative title). Their first performance is set for August 18, in honor of the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation Day. Anticipations are high from this project group, as many are expecting them to follow in the footsteps of QWER, a girl group produced by YouTuber Kim Gye Ran.

At the show’s press conference held on July 16 in Seoul, Woojunging revealed that she was the oldest member on the lineup and had been selected as the group’s leader. She expressed her confidence in the project and mentioned that she would get advice from QWER members for her upcoming debut.

Amy also showed her strong faith in the group, stating, “It’s a unique mix of people. Honestly speaking, I think we can be even more hip and dopamine-inducing than QWER.” Rapper Mirani revealed that she joined the lineup because she was a K-Pop fan and liked trying new challenges.

Former LOONA member Hyunjin urged fans for support, saying, “The chemistry among the members is amazing. Please also look forward to our chemistry in variety shows.”

At the press event, the production team played a 30-second snippet of the girl group’s debut song. It has been produced by EJAE, the producer behind the global hit song “Golden” from Netflix‘s KPop Demon Hunters.
Meanwhile, Today’s Debut Team is co-produced by Studio Welcome and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. The show started premiering on July 4. New episodes are released every Friday at 6pm, KST.
