When 3Y CORPORATION (Tamago Production)’s girl group QWER introduced their official lightstick, THE BOYZ fans became more than offended by the striking similarities between the designs of their iconic heart-shaped megaphone lightstick and the girl group’s.

After failing to hear back from the girl group’s management company regarding the design, THE BOYZ fans have since sent scathing messages on wheels.
Of course, K-Pop fans using protest trucks is nothing new. But this method is mostly used between a group’s fandom and its management companies. So, understandably, pictures of the truck sent by THE BOYZ fans to QWER’s building have garnered attention online for breaking K-Pop’s “unwritten rule” of using protest trucks.

While some worried that THE BOYZ fans might be getting themselves into possible legal issues with these trucks…

Tamago, stop staying silent! Destroy all the copied lightsticks!
Lightsticks that damage the image of your artists—who are they even for?
If you did it unknowingly, you’re unfit to be in the entertainment business;
if you did it knowingly, you’ve lost your right to be in it.
Tamago Production, which has no sense of business ethics, respond to the copy controversy!
— THE BOYZ Fans
…most remain supportive of the boy group’s fans for actively fighting to protect their lightstick design. Others have also slammed QWER and their management company for choosing to stay silent regarding the ongoing controversy.

- “Plagiarism can be upsetting, but wow, THE BOYZ fans have money to be sending a truck.”
- “I mean… Did THE BOYZ fans say anything wrong?”
- “Anyone can see that the lightsticks are exactly the same, so of course THE BOYZ fans could send a truck. What’s so wrong about protesting by sending a truck to another company? What, are fans just supposed to stay quiet?”
- “[QWER fans] got dirty and doxxed THE BOYZ fans. So compared to that, I think a truck is reasonable. They’re just confronting the company.”
- “But wouldn’t it be better for THE BOYZ fans to tell their own management company to just take legal action against QWER’s company for copying the lightstick design? I just feel like it’s a bit much to get this directly involved with another company.”

- “TBH, I feel like QWER’s company might even welcome all the clout they’ll get from fighting with a boy group fandom…”
- “Shouldn’t QWER fans have sent the truck? It’s their company.”
- “I don’t listen to QWER at all and I’m not interested, but shouldn’t THE BOYZ’s company have stepped in first? I’ve never seen fans send a truck to another group’s company like this.”
- “If QWER’s fandom had just decided to change it themselves, this wouldn’t have happened. Shows they can’t self-regulate.”
- “Even as a casual fan, I think it’s understandable that THE BOYZ fans are angry.”
- “I support this.”
- “Sending the trucks makes total sense.”
- “Oh, now fandoms are sending trucks to another artist’s company, too? Looks like this is the beginning of something new.”
