New Jeans has rejected the suggestion by the court to settle with ADOR

At the 2nd hearing for the lawsuit over the validity of their exclusive contract with ADOR, the court encouraged both sides to settle but New Jeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) rejected it stating that "their relationship with ADOR has been irreparably broken."

The court stated, "Would you consider a settlement before the next hearing? Although New Jeans said no last time, from the court's perspective, we would still like to recommend it."

Their lawyer responded, "Trust has already collapsed. We've crossed the point of no return."

ADOR's side responded, "We believe a settlement will come easily once the court makes a decision, whether on the main case or the injunction," expressing desire to await the court's judgement.

ADOR submitted statements and evidence previously claiming the agency had done its best to ensure the members’ activities continued even after CEO Min Hee-jin was replaced, and that management support remained in place.

However, New Jeans' side countered, "The evidence presented is very lacking. Fulfilling management obligations isn’t simply about listing replacement producers. Anyone can do that. That’s not why we signed an exclusive contract."

ADOR also requested records from ongoing damages lawsuit between Min Hee-jin and HYBE subsidiary Source Music, also being heard at Seoul Western District Court. Source, home to Le Sserafim, sued Min Hee-jin over claims she made during her conflict with HYBE, saying "her statements were false."

New Jeans' side responded, "Some of the evidence being used is illegally obtained. We’ve submitted an opinion to the court requesting that these not be accepted. Given the high possibility of illegal collection, that issue must be addressed first."

ADOR countered, "The computer in question is company property, and files were provided with consent. They cannot be considered illegally obtained."

The court scheduled another hearing for July 24 to continue hearing both sides’ arguments.

Meanwhile, on May 29, the court granted ADOR’s request for indirect compulsory enforcement. The ruling states that "if NewJeans carries out any independent activities without ADOR’s prior approval, each member must pay 1 billion won per violation."

  1. [+270, -19] If you're not going to fulfill the contract, then pay the penalty and leave cleanly! Tsk tsk. The company invested and raised you, and now you're stabbing them in the back with this betrayal and ingratitude... Ignoring the contract and defying court rulings—do you think throwing tantrums will solve anything? Just because you got popular and made some money doesn’t give you the right to act arrogant. Being used by that shaman-looking Min? You're done now. Wake up! Tsk tsk.
  2. [+195, -64] It’s a shame to waste the kids’ talent, but even if they take this to the Supreme Court, it’ll be hard for them to win. You’d have to be someone like Lee Jae-myung to break laws, replace judges, and do whatever you want.
  3. [+119, -9] They think they’re all that, but their popularity didn’t come from their own charm — it was artificially created by the company and the songwriters. This kind of delusion will ruin them.
  4. [+34, -2] Follow the law!
  5. [+31, -1] They ignored the contract — how are they going to handle the damages later?!
  6. [+20, -1] Beyond financial interests, it seems Min Hee-jin’s lack of character and their parents’ ignorance ruined them. They’ll grow up and spend their lives paying off debts. Let the parents lose all their assets too.
  7. [+13, -1] I was wondering why they were acting like this — maybe they plan to give up their Korean citizenship and work overseas..
  8. [+10, -1] What's the difference between these kids and the 3 from Fifty Fifty who betrayed their group?!
  9. [+9, -2] If a judge is saying something like this it's because he knows they're going to lose. They're unbelievably stubborn. If they want to ruin their own lives so be it! Sigh, how pathetic — both New Jeans and their parents. They're sitting there throwing away hundreds of billions per person,
  10. [+8, -1] Do they think idol fame lasts forever? This is really sad
  11. [+6, -1] Let’s show them what happens when you ignore the law just because you're doing well — even if there are minors involved!!
  12. [+6, -1] Min Hee-jin isn’t going to live your lives for you ~ Once the damages start rolling in, maybe you'll wake up then~ They probably don’t even know what a contract is~ Once you sign and stamp it, it's not that easy to make it invalid~~ That’s how the world works~
  13. [+4, -1] It's completely game over for this group now!
