LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae Reveals How Auditioning For A Different Big 4 Label Led To Her Debut Under HYBE

LE SSERAFIM member Eunchae recently talked about what inspired her to audition for the first time for a K-Pop label.

On July 31, Eunchae appeared as a guest on TWICE Sana‘s popular YouTube show, Sana’s Fridge Interview, and shared candid memories of her pre-debut days.

Recalling her school days, Euncahe revealed that she was a very outgoing student and always participated in events such as dance performances. As a result, she was very well-known in her school. However, after becoming a trainee, she turned so shy that her older members had to help her adjust to the new life.

The highlight moment of her interview with Sana, however, was when Eunchae confessed that TWICE was the reason she auditioned at JYP Entertainment before any other company.

She added that she auditioned through her dance academy and beat hundreds of other applicants to get to the final round. “Two people, including me and another person, passed,” she recalled, adding that both of them had a second audition at the company.

Eunchae admitted that she failed to crack the audition because of her lack of confidence. She confessed that she thought her opponent was very pretty and tall and “felt timid for some reason,” despite being pretty tall herself. As self-doubt started creeping in, Eunchae ended up changing the song she had prepared just a few minutes before the audition and consequently, failed.

However, the idol didn’t let this failure hold her back. She recalled auditioning for Pledis Entertainment and Source Music afterwards. When Sana asked which audition she found to be the least nerve-wracking, Eunchae responded that it was the latter, thanks to her first audition for JYP Entertainment.

Eunchae revealed that the casting manager who initially saw her during the first audition had later moved to Source Music and came searching for her at her dance academy. She insisted that Eunchae auditioned once more, which led to her becoming a Source Music trainee. “I am so grateful to her even now,” the LE SSERAFIM maknae mentioned fondly.
