“KPop Demon Hunters” girl group HUNTR/X is one step away from topping Billboard’s Hot 100!
On July 29 local time, Billboard revealed that HUNTR/X—the fictional girl group from the animated film “KPop Demon Hunters”—had climbed to a new peak on the Hot 100, which ranks the most popular songs in the United States. The trio’s hit song “Golden” (sung by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami) rose to No. 2 in its fifth consecutive week on the chart.
However, “Golden” wasn’t the only song from “KPop Demon Hunters” to reach a new peak on the Hot 100: all of the original songs from the film hit new peaks and made it into the top 40 this week.
Saja Boys’ “Your Idol” (sung by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, U-KISS’s Kevin Woo, and samUIL Lee) charted at No. 12, HUNTR/X’s “How It’s Done” at No. 19, Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” at No. 21, Rumi and Jinu’s duet “Free” (sung by EJAE and Andrew Choi) at No. 30, HUNTR/X’s “What It Sounds Like” at No. 31, and HUNTR/X’s “Takedown” at No. 39.
TWICE’s Jeonghyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s version of “Takedown” also reached a new peak of No. 76 on the Hot 100, while TWICE’s 2024 hit “Strategy” (which is included on the soundtrack) debuted on the chart at No. 92.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of “KPop Demon Hunters” (as well as TWICE)!
