Leejung told Star News that while she wasn’t necessarily referencing any specific K-Pop idols when creating the choreography…

Star News: Was there a K-Pop artist you used as a reference when creating the choreography for KPop Demon Hunters?

Leejung: There wasn’t a specific reference. For me, good inspiration comes from music itself. The music was so good that I was able to let my imagination run wild.

…one ended up striking so much similarity with “Jinu,” a “Saja Boys” member in the movie.

Star News: A lot of people have been covering the “shoulder dance” from KPop Demon Hunters. Who do you think did it best?

Leejung: A few choreographies immediately come to mind, and I’m so thankful that so many people tried it out. Rather than who did it best, the one that struck me the most was Cha Eunwoo. I heard Cha Eunwoo was a reference for Jinu, so when the real Cha Eunwoo covered the dance, it felt like ‘human Jinu’ had come to life.

Noting KPop Demon Hunters to be an “incredibly fun project to work on,” Leejung thanked the movie production team and viewers for the love and support for her work involved.
