As excitement builds for Kim JaeJoong’s upcoming J-Party Asia Tour “GALAXY 1986” concert in Singapore on 28 March 2026, we were able to catch him to answer some questions we have been curious about for the upcoming concert. Let’s hear what he has to share!

When asked about what fans can expect from this Singapore stop, Jae Joong keeps it simple. He wants to create precious memories with the fans who have been waiting.
“Through this concert, I will do my best to create special and unforgettable moments with all of you, so I hope everyone will look forward to it.”

Rather than focusing only on the setlist, Jae Joong said he will also be placing more emphasis on the ‘in-between’ moments. Unlike his previous “Beauty in Chaos” tour, the “GALAXY 1986” J-Party aims to be slightly more intimate, with more shared conversations as well as stories which he hadn’t had the opportunity to bring up previously.
“Since this is a fan concert with music and talk segments, it will be a time where we can sing and share laughter together, with touching moments.”
This desire to connect closely with fans is also the reason for his success so far. That same dedication now extends to mentoring younger talent.

Having over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and now as a producer of idol groups himself, we asked about his perspective and whether he actively shares his experiences with the current trainees. He responded that when he mentors younger trainees or artists these days, he focuses more on their character. He believes that, at core, it is important to have courtesy and good manners.
“Being a muse worthy of respect”.
He explained that when expressing his own energy, he tries to practice self-control over his emotions and continues to push through growing pains, indicating he also aims to lead by example. Being an artist, he said, isn’t just all about talent. It also takes discipline and knowing your boundaries well.
As a producer, Jae Joong encourages new artists to slow down amidst a highly competitive environment. He thinks that it is important to take the time to understand one’s identity, values and unique colours. Retrospectively, he admitted there were periods where he felt like he wasted time (was lost) and he would have less regrets had he been more truthful with himself.
Kim Jaejoong on finding his own voice.
“In the past, I think I often performed music which was curated for me. Now, it feels different because the direction I pursue is something that my fans and I build together, with challenges I choose for myself. However, even with the freedom, there is still a sense of pressure to continue growing and learning. That hasn’t really changed.”
We feel inspired by his evolution, as an artist, who takes ownership of his music and chooses the path to continuously challenge himself for the fans.
Finally, we also asked him to leave a message for the fans who are awaiting “GALAXY 1986“. As he hasn’t seen the fans in Singapore for a while, he’s genuinely looking forward to the upcoming meeting, as the last stop of the tour. He hopes that the time spent will be meaningful, passionate and heartfelt.
“I believe I was able to walk this path for 23 years thanks to all the fans who have supported me with their whole hearts. I will continue to do my best to share even deeper and longer moments with you in the future. 사랑해요!”
