KATSEYE Receives Heated Backlash After Recent Off-Schedule Sighting

HYBE‘s global girl group KATSEYE is facing heat from international fans after their recent spotting at Disneyland.

KATSEYE has been steadily gaining ground as a global pop girl group, and their rise to success has been accelerated by their latest release, “Gnarly.” However, the internet’s favorite girl group recently faced some major backlash after they were spotted hanging out with Scooter Braun, the controversial HYBE executive and music mogul.

On June 1, KST, all KATSEYE members were spotted hanging out with Braun and, supposedly, his family, at Disneyland. The HYBE America CEO posted a couple of pictures from this outing with the caption, “Today was a great day.”

These photos instantly triggered backlash from international fans, a significant chunk of whom are also supporters of the Palestinian cause. Given Scooter Braun’s constant advocacy for Zionism, many fans felt that KATSEYE associating with him outside of their professional obligations directly contradicted their previously perceived solidarity with Palestine.

The previous praise for many KATSEYE members for their subtle way of taking a pro-Palestinian stance has now been replaced with a call for an economic boycott, in line with the broader divestment campaign against HYBE and other K-Pop companies that willingly associate with Zionism as the world watches in horror, the colossal loss of life and humanity in Gaza.
