Idol-Turned-Actor Breaks Up With Girlfriend Over Potential Marriage

A K-Pop idol-turned-actor opened up about his past experience of breaking up with a girlfriend.

A recent episode of JTBC’s Love War, which aired on the 7th, featured Lee Joon, originally from the group MBLAQ, as a special guest.

The show featured a woman couldn’t stop crying upon learning that the man was about to leave for a working holiday. The two went on one last trip before he left, but the woman couldn’t hide her sadness.

Watching this, Lee Hyori suddenly said she envied the woman’s ability to express her emotions. Seo Jang Hoon asked, “I can understand the envy, but shouldn’t Lee Hyori not feel that way?” Lee Hyori replied, “Regardless of being married or not, I can’t afford to feel hurt or cry like that anymore.”

The woman grew anxious about the man’s departure, and the man found her overwhelming. The woman also kept pressing the man about marriage. Lee Joon deeply empathized with the man’s position and frankly said, “There were quite a few girlfriends who wanted to get married. Every time marriage plans came up, my heart felt like it was being squeezed.”

Lee Hyori asked why he couldn’t just be honest, and Lee Joon shared his experience, saying, “There was a time we broke up because I said I couldn’t get married. It’s not about making promises you can’t keep, but saying it just to soothe the present feels irresponsible.”
