[Event Coverage] G-DRAGON wraps 2025 Übermensch in KL and hints of what’s next

1 day ago 9

G-DRAGON made a powerful return to Malaysia as part of his 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch], presented by Hong Leong Bank. Held over two nights at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, the concerts offered fans a bold and emotional showcase of his artistry. He opened the night with the explosive track “POWER,” instantly setting the tone for an intense and immersive experience.

His setlist mixed crowd favorites like “Crayon,” “Heartbreaker,” “Crooked,” and “One of a Kind” with newer tracks “TOO BAD” and “DRAMA.” The concert’s narrative leaned into the concept of Übermensch — exploring themes of personal reinvention and breaking limits — giving the evening a sense of introspective momentum beneath the high energy.

From cutting-edge stage design to fashion-forward outfit changes, every detail was meticulously planned. Each costume added nuance to the story, reflecting G-DRAGON’s evolving identity and bold aesthetic.

The emotional high point came with “Untitled, 2014.” The stage softened, the lights dimmed, and the performance slowed into a tender, heartfelt moment. It was a quiet yet powerful close that lingered with fans even after the final note.

With his return to the Malaysian stage, G-DRAGON proved why he remains a trailblazer — not just musically, but in how he approaches performance as a total art form. The KL shows weren’t just concerts; they were cinematic experiences layered with symbolism, style, and sincerity.

And with BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary just around the corner in 2026, Malaysian VIPs are now holding onto hope that they’ll get to see the group reunite and perform on home ground once again — this time, perhaps with even more memories to make.

K-popped! would like to thank Star Planet for the opportunity to watch G-DRAGON live.
