Recently, BTS‘s Jungkook sparked controversy over his actions during a live stream.
BTS’s Jungkook | Rolling StoneOn February 26, Jungkook went live on Weverse at around 4 a.m. KST, chatting with fans for about an hour while karaoke-ing with his older brother and a friend. The idol hit on a number of topics despite potential ramifications, which he mentioned a few times.
The entire live had a similar theme of the idol following his own desires without concern over what could be considered “outside” of the “idol image.” Jungkook admitted to being “drunk” and openly spoke his mind throughout and acted freely, cursing and flipping off his friend.

The idol also mentioned having a schedule later that day, along with openly giving his thoughts about the upcoming comeback.
Despite Jungkook doing nothing illegal, and even saying he quit smoking, netizens have had adverse reactions to the live stream. Many commenters on a now viral post criticized his behavior as “immature” and not fitting the idol image.

- “What’s wrong with him…? Life must be way too easy for him. He’s always done whatever he wanted anyway, so why should fans keep supporting him? I honestly feel bad for the fans. How did he become even more immature after finishing military service?”
- “This seriously pisses me off. If there’s a schedule, how is any of it unimportant? People paid for it — and he’s just ignoring that? Think before you act. When you’re told you’re pretty your whole life, do you lose all awareness? Grow up already.”
- “If he has a schedule but stays out drinking until dawn and doesn’t even sleep, that’s probably the most disappointing thing for fans to see.”
- “I honestly just feel bad for the company staff who have to clean up this mess.
